Upton Lakes

We are very fortunate to have two lakes totalling 3 acres approx of water, The top lake which is the older of the two was originally dug in 1904 and was renovated by us in 1990. Being over 100 years old this lake is always a favourite with all our regulars as it is full of beauty and character. The biggest Carp caught in 2004 was 26lbs 4 oz. The largest Bream, in 2004, was 7lb 2o. The lake also boasts Tench to 6lb, Perch to 3lb, Rudd and Roach to 2lb.This lake is renowned for hard-fighting fish in wonderful condition and is only a short walk of approx. 200 yards from the accommodation.

Our Match Lake was designed and dug by myself in 1999 and is ideally suited for pole fishing. It was stocked in 2000 and has provided some great fishing, with last year top bag exceeding 180lbs! It is packed with Carp, Skimmers, Roach, Rudd and Tench, with a few Crucian Carp. This lake has proven especially popular with the guests as anglers can be easily seen fishing anywhere around the lake whilst their families relax at their holiday home watching TV or having a relaxing drink on the veranda.
